About Girls Take Charge
 Girls Take Charge is a hands-on leadership conference for high school and middle school girls and is offered at select locations throughout the year. The program is offered by Learning to Lead, Inc. a national 501(c)3 nonprofit organization focused on developing key leadership skills in adolescents. The conference is highly interactive and fun providing an opportunity for girls to express their thoughts and experiences.
Girls Take Charge is a nationally award winning program and was recognized by the prestigious Avon Hello Tomorrow Fund for the work it is doing to inspire girls and build future leaders. Girls Take Charge has also received generous corporate support from organizations such as State Farm Insurance, Bank of America, AOL, Wachovia Bank, and Lockheed Martin
 Why Girls Take Charge? Girls Take Charge inspires and empowers high school and middle school age girls to become self-confident, leaders in their schools, on the field, in their organizations and communities. Girls benefit from hands-on sessions and coaching from experienced women leaders and university women student leaders on topics including Positive Risk Taking, Goal Setting, Collaboration, Communication and Decision Making.
GTC reaches young women at the time when they are most susceptible to the corrosive power of social messaging that is so influential it is defining how girls view their own self worth and ability to achieve success. GTC acts as a counterbalance, producing confident young women who are energized about the future and have the tools to make a difference in their schools and communities. The program is for truly any girl who wants to learn more about herself, her goals, dreams and spend a fun day on a college campus!
Who should attend Girls Take Charge?
Girls who attend the program are excited and motivated about helping others and reaching their personal goals. Current leadership roles are not necessary!
